My main focus for Pear’s Crackpot is to provide easy Thai food recipes and ingredients for some delicious Thai dishes. After years of experimenting with ingredients, the products on this site are what I consume myself, and are the products I use to feed my loved ones with.

My friends are always surprised at how easy and cheap it is to make Thai food when I show them. I think it’s the ingredients that seem intimidating…kinda like my last name, once you sound it out it’s really not that hard. So I’ll show you exactly what I do and what products I use to create some of these dishes that you know and love. Check out the online Thai food store for the list of products offered.

You don’t have to be Thai or grow up in Thailand or have a Thai mother to learn how to cook Thai food. I didn’t learn how to cook from my mama. It’s all trial and error and the internet, baby! You just have to love food and not be afraid to try new things. My stepdad loves to tell people how they saw no hope for me in the kitchen. My mama and lil sis used to spend Sunday mornings making elaborate meals and I’d always wake up just in time to eat. But once they moved away (that’s right, my parents moved out on me), I learned very quickly.

It all started with Hamburger Helper. Oh, how that four finger left-hand glove saved my life. My cabinets were stocked with all varieties. Eventually I gained confidence, got adventurous, and naturally started testing Italian meals. The thought of making Thai food never crossed my mind…too complicated. But when I paid more attention to the restaurant bills whenever we’d go out for Thai food, my thrifty instinct kicked in. I can make these dishes for half the price, twice the volume with better quality of meat. So I said “WHY NOT!” And if I can do it, you can do it.
